Smith first came to prominence as both a striker and an attacking right-midfielder during his early days at Leeds United before Manchester Unitedmanager Sir Alex Ferguson converted him to a holding midfielder, a role in which he continued after his transfer to Newcastle United. Smith has earned a reputation as a hard-tackling player and is noted for his high work rate.
An England youth international at multiple levels, Smith was called into the England squad for the friendly against Italy in November 2000, but later withdrew in order to rest. He eventually earned his first cap in May 2001 in a friendly against Mexico, but did not make the final cut for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and continued representing the under-21s. Smith scored on his full debut againstPortugal in September 2002, being set up by Leeds team mate Lee Bowyer. STARS ENGLAND ALAN JAMES BALL Portrait Drawing Soccer Football Khaled3Ken Gallery

STARS ENGLAND ALAN JAMES BALL Portrait Drawing Soccer Football Khaled3Ken Gallery
Alan James Ball, Jr., MBE (12 May 1945 – 25 April 2007) was a professional English footballer and football club manager.
He was the youngest member of England's 1966 World Cup winning team and played for various clubs, scoring more than 180 league goals in a career spanning 22 years. His playing career also included a then national record £220,000 transfer from Everton to Arsenal at the end of 1971.
After retiring as a player, he had a 15-year career as a manager which included spells in the top flight of English football with Portsmouth, Southampton and Manchester City.
In January 1998, Ball was contacted by Brian Howe, who informed him he was to make a takeover bid for the club and that he would like Ball to manage the club. This led to Ball returning to Portsmouth as manager in February 1998, however the take-over never came about. When he was appointed Pompey were several points adrift at the bottom of the table and enduring a near-fatal financial crisis, going into administration for over a year. In 1998 he masterminded a miraculous escape that saw two of his former sides (Stoke City and Manchester City) relegated after Pompey won 3–1 at Bradford City on the final day of the season. He also kept them up in the 1998–9 season, but his contract was terminated on 9 December 1999 with the club in the lower half of Division One. His departure came 6 months after the club was rescued from financial oblivion by new owner Milan Mandaric. On his retirement, 54-year-old Ball was the last remaining England World Cup winner in management.

STARS ENGLAND ALF COMMON Portrait Drawing Soccer Football Khaled3Ken Gallery

STARS ENGLAND ALF COMMON Portrait Drawing Soccer Football Khaled3Ken Gallery
Alf Common (25 May 1880 in Millfield – 3 April 1946 in Darlington) was an English footballer who played at inside forward or centre forward. He is most famous for being the first player to be transferred for a fee of £1,000 on his transfer to Middlesbrough from Sunderland in 1905.
Common played for South Hylton and Jarrow in North East England before joiningSunderland in 1900. Sunderland finished Division One runners-up in 1900–01, after which Common transferred to Sheffield United in October 1901 for £325. Neither Sunderland nor Sheffield United had cause to regret the deal in the sense that Sunderland finished as Division One Champions in 1901–02, and Common scored the first goal in the Blades FA Cup final win of 1902 over Southampton.
Common became a regular member of Sheffield United teams, and won the first of his three international caps in 1904, but in May of that year he refused to re-sign forUnited because he wished to return to Sunderland where he was reported to have 'business interests'. United failed to persuade Common to change his mind and in the summer of 1904, he returned to Sunderland. The deal also took United's reserve goalkeeper Albert Lewis in return for a new record fee of around £520.
In February 1905, little more than six months after this move, he broke the transfer record again by moving to Middlesbrough for £1,000. Middlesbrough had purchased Common in an attempt to avoid relegation to the Second Division. His first game for Middlesbrough was on 25 February 1905, away to his former club Sheffield United. Middlesbrough won 1–0, with Common scoring from a penalty after 50 minutes, it was their first away win for nearly two years. Consequently the team, who had so far been battling against relegation that season, survived the drop. He played 168 leaguegames for Boro and scored 58 goals.
At the age of 30, Common moved to Woolwich Arsenal in 1910, making his debut on 1 September 1910 against Manchester United. In total, he played 80 times and scored 23 goals for Arsenal; after starting out at inside forward, he took on a more attacking role in his second season and was the club's top goalscorer (with 17) in 1911–12, missing just two league games. However, he didn't score a single goal in the first half of the Gunners' 1912–13 relegation season, before being sold to Preston North End in December 1912 for £250. At Preston, he helped the club to win the Division Two title that season, although they were relegated the following season (1913–14).
Common retired from football in 1914, and went on to run pubs in Darlington until 1943. He died in 1946 aged 65.
In 1998 Alf Common was selected as one of the Football League's 100 Football League Legends.

STARS ENGLAND SHEARER Portrait Drawing Soccer Football Khaled3Ken Gallery
Alan Shearer OBE, DL (born 13 August 1970) is a retired English footballer. He played as a striker in the top level of English league football forSouthampton, Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle United and for the England national team. He is considered by some as one of England's best strikers, being both Newcastle's and the Premier League's record goalscorer. After retiring as a player in 2006, Shearer worked as a television pundit for the BBC. In 2009 he briefly left his BBC role to become Newcastle United's manager in the last eight games of their 2008–09 season, in an unsuccessful attempt to save them from relegation.
A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, Shearer made his professional debut with English top-flight club Southampton in 1988, scoring a hat-trick in the process. During several years on the south coast, he became known for his classic style of play, strength and goalscoring ability; he soon received an international call-up along with a transfer to Blackburn Rovers in 1992. Shearer established himself as a player in northern England; he became a regular in the England squad, and his 34-goal tally helped Blackburn secure the Premier League title in 1994–95. He was named Football Writers' Association Player of the Year in 1994 and won the PFA Player of the Year award in 1995. The 1995–96 season saw Shearer make his first Champions League appearances and finish as the top scorer in the Premier League with 31 goals. He was also top scorer at Euro 1996 with England, scoring five goals, and in the 1996–97 Premier League, with 25 goals. He scored 283 league goals in his career, including a record 260 in the Premier League, and a total of 422 in all competitions including international at all levels. Shearer has amassed a goals to game ratio of 0.667 throughout his career at every level.
A world-record £15 million move to his boyhood heroes, Newcastle United, followed the Euro '96 tournament, and Shearer spent the remainder of his career with the club. While he would never win a trophy at Newcastle, Shearer helped his team to runners-up finishes in the Premier League and FA Cup with Newcastle, and won a second PFA Player of the Year award. After being named England's captain in 1996 and Newcastle's captain in 1999, he retired from international football following Euro 2000, having amassed 63 appearances and 30 goals for his country. As well as his media work, he has raised substantial amounts of money for various national and local charities, both within and outside of sports. Shearer is an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), a Deputy Lieutenant of Northumberland, a Freeman ofNewcastle upon Tyne and an honorary Doctor of Civil Law of Northumbria andNewcastle Universities.

Norbert "Nobby" Peter Stiles MBE (born 18 May 1942) is a retired English footballer. He was born in Collyhurst, Manchester.
Stiles played for England for five years, winning 28 caps and scoring 1 goal. He played every minute of England's victorious 1966 FIFA World Cup campaign. His best performance in an England shirt was probably the semi-final of that tournament against Portugal, where he was given the job of marking the prolific Eusébio. His tough performance resulted in Eusébio being practically nullified for the entire game. Stiles also played very well in the final, which England won 4–2 against West Germany. His post match celebration has become one of the most famous images in English sport history. The sight of Stiles dancing on the Wembley pitch, holding the World Cup trophy in one hand and his false teeth in the other, has lived for decades.
Stiles played the majority of his club career for Manchester United, spending eleven years at Old Trafford, where he became renowned for his tough tackling and ball winning qualities. With the Red Devils, he won two League titles and one European Cup. Stiles is one of only three Englishmen, alongside Bobby Charlton and Ian Callaghan, to have won both the FIFA World Cup and European Cup.
He also had short spells with Middlesbrough and Preston North End.
In 2000, Stiles was awarded his MBE after a campaign by sections of the media who were surprised that five of the 1966 team had never been officially decorated for their achievements. Stiles duly joined Alan Ball, Roger Hunt, Ray Wilson and George Cohen in collecting his gong.
Stiles released his autobiography, After The Ball, in 2003.
His son John Stiles played for Shamrock Rovers and Leeds United in the early 1980s.
Stiles was elected to the English Football Hall of Fame in 2007.
A teenage Stiles, then a Manchester United apprentice, was portrayed by actor Kyle Ward in a 2011 BBC TV drama, United, which was centred around the Munich air disaster in 1958, in which eight of United's senior players died.

John Norman "Johnny" Haynes (17 October 1934 – 18 October 2005) was anEnglish footballer, best known for his 18 years at Fulham. He was a one-club man, spending his entire first class career at Fulham, where he played a club-record 658 games and scored 158 goals between 1952 and 1970. An inside forward, Haynes is widely regarded as the greatest footballer ever to play for the Londonclub, particularly noted for his exceptional passing skill and ability to read a game. An accomplished international, he made 56 appearances for his country, including 22 as captain (many of them while playing for Fulham in the Second Division). Haynes became the first player to be paid £100 a week, immediately following the abolition of the £20 maximum wage in 1961. Pelé was once quoted as calling Haynes the "best passer of the ball I've ever seen".
Its All In The Game
In March 2008 the first full book on Johnny Haynes' career was published by club photographer Ken Coton and lifelong supporter Martin Plumb. Eulogised by journalists, the book with over 300 pages and 300 photographs details all of his games and goals with rare archive footage (Ashwater Press)
Weeks after its centenary year, on 27 November 2005, it was announced that the Archibald Leitch-designed Stevenage Road Stand at Craven Cottage would be renamed The Johnny Haynes Stand. Other suggestions to honour Haynes had included a redesign of the gates of Craven Cottage and the retirement of the number 10 shirt worn by Haynes throughout his time at Fulham.
On 28 July 2008, Fulham announced that fundraising had commenced, with the co-operation of a fan's group, to produce a lasting tribute to Haynes.A statue was commissioned and was unveiled at Craven Cottage before thePremier League match against Sunderland on 18 October 2008. The Statue also appears on Fulham Membership Cards issue in 2010.

David Andrew Seaman MBE (born 19 September 1963 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeperfor several clubs, most notably Arsenal. He retired from the game on 13 January 2004, following a recurring shoulder injury. He was appointed an MBE in 1997 for services to the sport.
The peak of his career was during his period as Arsenal and England goalkeeper in the 1990s and early 2000s; during his time at Arsenal he won many medals including three league championships (1991, 1998, 2002), four FA Cups (1993, 1998, 2002, 2003), the League Cup in 1993 and the European Cup Winners Cupin 1994. During this time he also played in the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, andEuro 96 and Euro 2000, and is England's second-most capped goalkeeper with 75 caps, after Peter Shilton.
Seaman's career highs came in his successful performance in UEFA Euro 96 and in Arsenal's UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, Premier League and FA Cup (including a superb save from Paul Peschisolido for Sheffield United in the FA Cup 2002–03) campaigns in the mid-90s and early-2000s. Notable lows came with two costly errors, both from long-range efforts — conceding a last-minute goal in the 1995 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup Final to Nayim and conceding to a Ronaldinho free-kick in the 2002 FIFA World Cup quarter-final.
Seaman is left-handed, but throws the football with his right arm and kicks with his right foot. He also played in the Premier League for Manchester City, as well as appearances in the Football League for Peterborough United, Birmingham City and Queens Park Rangers.
In June 2012, he was appointed goalkeeping coach of Combined Counties Leagueclub Wembley.

Duncan Edwards (1 October 1936 – 21 February 1958) was an English footballerwho played for Manchester United and the England national team. He was one of theBusby Babes, the young United team formed under manager Matt Busby in the mid 1950s, and one of eight players who died as a result of the Munich air disaster.
Born in Dudley, Edwards signed for Manchester United as a teenager and went on to become the youngest player to play in the Football League First Division and the then youngest England player since the Second World War. In a professional career of less than five years he helped United to win two Football League championships and reach the semi-finals of the European Cup.
Although he is primarily remembered as a defensive midfielder, Edwards is said to have been able to operate in any outfield position on the field of play. His versatility was such that on one occasion he started the match playing as an emergency striker in place of one injured player before being switched to central defence in place of another. His greatest assets were his physical strength and his level of authority on the pitch, which was said to be remarkable for such a young player, and he was particularly noted for his high level of stamina.Stanley Matthews described him as being "like a rock in a raging sea", and Bobby Moore likened him to the Rock of Gibraltar when defending but also noted that he was "dynamic coming forward".His imposing physique earned him the nicknames "Big Dunc" and "The Tank",
and he has been ranked amongst the toughest players of all time.
Edwards was noted for the power and timing of his tackles and for his ability to pass and shoot equally well with both feet. He was known for his surging runs up the pitch and was equally skilled at heading the ball and at striking fierce long-range shots. After scoring a goal on 26 May 1956, in a 3–1 friendly win against West Germany, he was given the nickname "Boom Boom" by the local press because of "the Big Bertha shot in his boots"

In the 2006 World Cup finals, Rosick? scored two goals in the Czech Republic's opening match on 12 June 2006 in a 3–0 victory over the United States, one of which was from 35 yards out and was nominated for the 2006 World Cup best goal. At the beginning of the 2006–07 season, Rosick? was made captain of the Czech Republic national side, replacing the retiring Pavel Nedv?d, which he took up very well, greatly helping the Czech Republic qualify for Euro 2008.

Josef Masopust (born 9 February 1931 in St?imice near Most) is a Czechoslovakformer football player and coach. He was named European Footballer of the Yearin 1962. In November 2003, to celebrate UEFA's Jubilee, he was selected as theGolden Player of the Czech Republic by the Football Association of the Czech Republic as their most outstanding player of the past 50 years. He played as midfielder and was an indispensable player for Czechoslovakia. He capped 63 times, scoring 10 goals for his country.
He was named by Pelé as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers in March 2004.
Masopust was in a similar mould to that of the Magyar Bozsik; a workhorse of a team, who toiled away in obscurity crafting and building fresh attacks for the front line. Masopust though was not devoid of technical abilities and could 'play the violin and do the dishes'. He Possessed exemplary ball control, his transmission with ball on foot through the field was clinical, which he utilized for both; basic work, from the recovery of the ball in defense, to driving menacingly through the opposition in what was termed 'Masopust's slalom'. During these solo runs Masopust would seamlessly switch between both feet, easily jinking to the left and right but always moving forward.
Like Bozsik, Masopust as well was a marvellous passer, and was able to pick out teammates with both strength and precision. The only flaw in his capabilities came from his physical weakness due to his medium build, but he made up for this deficit with massive reserves of stamina and pace, allowing him to be a tireless engine in the centre of the field.
Shackled by Czechoslovakia's 'no-risk' style philosophy, Masopust's natural inclination for attack was limited, yet he still managed 10 goals in 63 caps for his country. At club level he scored 79 times in 386 appearances for Dukla Praha.

Franti?ek Pl?ni?ka (Czech pronunciation:2 June 1904 – 20 July 1996) was a Czech football goalkeeper and one of the most honoured players in the history of Czechoslovakian football. He played the majority of his career for Slavia Prague, during which time the club won the Czech league eight times and the Mitropa Cup once. He also became a member of the Czechoslovakia national team and later itscaptain during the World Cup finals of 1934 (where the Czech team finished second) and 1938.
Pl?ni?ka was a courageous player, to the extent that in Czechoslovakia's 1938 World Cup match against Brazil, he remained on the field despite having suffered a serious injury. He was a goalkeeper of outstanding reflexes and shot-stopping abilities and was also characterized by his sportsmanship, never once being cautioned or sent off in his career. He was awarded the UNESCO International Fair Play Award in 1985
In 1999, the IFFHS elected him the best Czech goalkeeper – and ninth best overall – of the twentieth century. In 2003, he was catalogued as the greatest goalkeeper of an era that included other notable keepers such as Ricardo Zamora and Giampiero Combi.

ANTONIN PANENKA Portrait Drawing Soccer Football Khaled3Ken Gallery

ANTONIN PANENKA Portrait Drawing Soccer Football Khaled3Ken Gallery
Anton?n Panenka (born 2 December 1948 in Prague) is a Czech former footballer. He played most of his career for Bohemians Prague. Panenka won the 1976 European Championship with Czechoslovakia. In the final against West Germany he scored the winning penalty in the shootout with a softly chipped ball up the middle as the goalie dived away; this style of penalty is now called the Panenka penalty. In 1980 he won Czechoslovak Footballer of the Year and his team finished third in the1980 European Championship.
Even to this day, many football commentators are amazed at how Panenka managed to hold his nerve to take a shot like that, especially as he would have looked extremely silly had the keeper not dived. Pele said it could be attempted by "either a genius or a madman". Panenka said he never had any doubt that he would score.
"About two years before the European Championships I began trying it. At first I did it during friendly matches and then I did it once or twice during Czechoslovak league matches. It worked so well that I decided that I would use the technique if I got a penalty at the European Championships. Of course, it was pure chance that the opportunity came in the final after the Germans equalised in the last minute and then, when it went to penalties, the German player missed his kick before it was my turn. It was like the will of God. I was one thousand percent certain that I would take the penalty in that way and that I would score."
The Panenka penalty has since been successfully duplicated by Zinedine Zidane in the 2006 World Cup Final, Sebastian Abreu in the2010 World Cup, both Andrea Pirlo and Sergio Ramos at UEFA Euro 2012,Hélder Postiga at UEFA Euro 2004 and Francesco Totti at UEFA Euro 2000. A few who have tried unsuccessfully have been Neymar, Mickaël Landreau, Antonio Calle, Rogerio Ceni, Maicosuel, Marko Devic, Graham Zusi, Andrea Pirlo and Robin van Persie. and Iraq's Younis Mahmoud in the 2013 Gulf Cup Semi-Final match against Bahrain
As well as winning the 1976 European Championship, Panenka helped Czechoslovakia come third in the 1980 tournament, after scoring once again in a 9–8 penalty shootout win. In the finals of the 1982 World Cup; Panenka scored twice with penalties, but these were the only Czechoslovakian goals, and the team did not progress beyond the first group stage.
